Fatal crash involving semi-truck leaves 3 dead, 1 injured
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called to a crash involving multiple vehicles, including a truck tractor semi-trailer. According to authorities, a Ford sedan driven by Clint McCaffety of Temple was stopped in the westbound traffic lane due to a construction flagger. A Kia SUV driven by a woman from Fort Bend was also stopped behind the Ford. A Freightliner truck tractor driven by a man from Bellmead failed to control speed for unknown reasons and collided with the stopped vehicles. The impact caused the Kia to roll over into a ditch. The female driver of the Kia was taken to Scott & White Medical Center for treatment, while Clint McCaffety and his two passengers were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
