Fatal crash involving RTC bus and motorcycle near Spring Valley
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead after a crash involving a bus and a motorcycle near Spring Valley in Las Vegas. The crash occurred early Monday morning around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Desert Inn Road near Spring Valley in Las Vegas. It involved a motorcycle and a Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada bus. Police said the collision occurred when the motorcycle ran a red light and struck the side of the RTC bus. The motorcyclist, identified only as a 34-year-old man from Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment. Law enforcement officials advise that Rainbow Boulevard will be closed between Spring Mountain Road and Darby Avenue for several hours as the investigation into the collision commences. Commuters are advised to avoid the area and find another route.
