Fatal crash involving motorcycle and SUV in Allegany County
A man from Allegany County has passed away following a motorcycle accident in the Town of Independence. The incident occurred on State Route 248 on Sunday afternoon. Officials reported that the motorcyclist, Douglas Barney, 49, was traveling in the wrong direction and collided with an SUV. Tragically, Barney was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the SUV sustained minor injuries and were taken to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. An autopsy for Barney is set to take place at Olean General Hospital.
