Fatal crash involving Harlingen woman and truck tractor
The Texas Department of Public Safety is looking into a tragic two-vehicle accident that took place on Tuesday morning in WESLACO, Texas. According to the DPS report, the incident occurred when a red Kenworth Truck Tractor was heading westbound on Military Road (281) at 7:07 a.m. The truck was driven by its sole occupant. Meanwhile, a red Mazda 3, driven by the only occupant, was traveling southbound on FM 491 towards Military Road. The investigation revealed that the driver of the Mazda, identified as 25-year-old Brianna Marie Chavez from Harlingen, failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and collided with the Kenworth, resulting in a tragic outcome as Chavez lost her life at the scene due to her injuries. DPS Troopers are continuing to probe this heartbreaking accident.
