Fatal crash involving four vehicles in Saline Township
A tragic accident occurred in Saline Township on Friday night, resulting in two fatalities and injuring four individuals, including two children, according to Michigan State Police. The incident involved a collision between four vehicles at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Willow Road around 7:30 p.m. A 56-year-old man from Brooklyn, Michigan, driving a Dodge Ram attempted to pass a semi-truck while traveling west on Michigan Avenue. This maneuver led to a chain reaction where the Dodge Ram struck a Jeep Cherokee heading east, causing it to lose control and leave the road. The Dodge Ram then swiped the semi-truck before colliding head-on with a Chevy Silverado. The deceased individuals were identified as the Dodge Ram driver and the Silverado driver, a 43-year-old man from Osseo. The two seriously injured parties were the 36-year-old female driver of the Jeep Cherokee and a 46-year-old female passenger in the Silverado, both hospitalized in critical condition. Two children in the Jeep, a five-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother, sustained minor injuries. Michigan State Police stated that alcohol or drugs are not believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
