Fatal crash involving Aubrey ambulance on emergency call

Last Wednesday, June 18, an ambulance from Aubrey Fire Department had a devastating accident at the intersection of FM 424 and Fishtrap Road while rushing to a call on Highway 377. Despite using emergency lights and sirens, the ambulance crashed with another vehicle at the junction. Sadly, the driver of the other vehicle suffered severe injuries and later succumbed in the hospital. Fortunately, two other passengers from the vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The paramedics involved were unharmed and promptly administered aid to the injured until further emergency responders arrived. An external police agency, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety, is currently investigating the incident. City officials expressed their condolences, stating, "Our hearts go out to the family and friends impacted by this tragic event. We feel great sadness over this loss and offer our deepest sympathies during this very challenging time."
