
Fatal crash involving 69-year-old motor scooter rider: OSHP
A fatal crash occurred on Labor Day in Newbury, Ohio, where a 69-year-old man riding a motor scooter was hit by a teenager driving an SUV. The incident happened near the intersection of Elm Road and State Route 87. The man, identified as Paul Buttari Sr., was struck as the SUV pulled out onto State Route 87 from a stop sign. Unfortunately, Buttari sustained fatal injuries and passed away at UH Cleveland. Despite not wearing a helmet, Buttari was transported to the hospital by Newbury Township EMS. Fortunately, the 19-year-old driver of the SUV was unharmed. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor, though it is unclear if charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
