Fatal crash into tree in northeast Allen County
A tragic incident occurred east of Fort Wayne, where a young woman lost her life in a single-car crash on Monday morning. The Allen County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the accident took place at the intersection of Irving and Thimlar roads at approximately 6 a.m. After conducting an investigation, authorities determined that the driver, a woman in her twenties, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was fatally injured in the crash. The preliminary findings indicate that the car inexplicably veered off Irving Road, struck a driveway embankment, became airborne, and ultimately collided with a tree. The woman's identity will be disclosed by the coroner's office at a later date, while the incident remains under investigation.
