Fatal crash in Westmoreland leaves one dead, one injured
A fatal two-vehicle accident occurred in Westmoreland last weekend, resulting in the death of one person, as reported by Oneida County Sheriffs. The incident took place on Bartlett Road in the Town of Westmoreland on Friday evening. A collision occurred between a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old William Ballou and an SUV driven by 79-year-old Lorraine Madell, who was attempting to enter Bartlett Road from a residential driveway. Tragically, Ballou was pronounced dead at the scene, while Madell was taken to Rome Hospital for evaluation. Authorities are still investigating the crash, with assistance from various units and emergency response teams.
