Fatal crash in Wagener claims the life of a man
A man from Salley, South Carolina tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident near Wagener. The incident, which occurred on South Dixie Road, involved a 63-year-old driver named Robert Stempel. Stempel's Chevrolet Avalanche truck veered off the road, crashing into a fence and overturning. Despite being airlifted to Prisma Health Columbia, he succumbed to his injuries. The Aiken County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are currently investigating the accident, with a toxicology analysis still pending.
