Fatal crash in Victorville claims life of San Bernardino County deputy

A tragic traffic collision resulting from a pursuit in Victorville took the life of San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. The incident occurred when Deputy Cuevas was involved in a collision with another vehicle while chasing a stolen vehicle through an intersection at Seneca and El Evado roads. Cuevas, a six-year veteran of law enforcement based in Victorville for three years, leaves behind a wife, two children, parents, and siblings. The suspect, Ryan Dwayne Turner Jr., was arrested for charges including vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and evading a peace officer causing death or serious injury. Marcelline Demyan, the driver of the second vehicle involved, shared her experience of the crash and expressed her condolences for Cuevas' family.
