Fatal crash in Vermilion Parish claims the life of Crowley driver
KAPLAN, La. (KLFY) --A Vermillion Parish vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Crowley driver. According to authorities, shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA Highway 335, near Teche Road that claimed the life of Sommer Simon, 40, of Crowley. Officials said Simon was traveling west on LA Highway 335 in a 2017 Ford Mustang when, for reasons unknown, the Ford traveled off the roadway to the left, struck multiple trees and became fully engulfed in flames. Officials said Simoon died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The cause of the crash still remains under investigation.
