Fatal crash in Van Nuys as woman's car is struck from the side
A tragic accident resulted in a fatality as a woman lost her life when her car was struck on the driver's side by another vehicle in Van Nuys early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near a shopping area at Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards at approximately 1:45 a.m. Footage revealed severe damage to the victim's car as the driver's side was completely crushed by the impact. The victim, an unidentified woman believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, was declared deceased at the scene by a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department as reported by KTLA. The driver of the second vehicle and at least one passenger were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, with their conditions currently unknown. The cause of the collision, such as whether excessive speed or running a red light were factors, is still being investigated. A person from the second vehicle was observed in the back of a police car undergoing questioning by an officer.
