Fatal crash in Union Grove leads to sentencing of Kristi Lichtenwalner in 2022
On Monday, Oct. 6, Kristi Lichtenwalner was sentenced by a Racine County judge to ten years in prison and a further ten years of extended supervision for her involvement in a fatal drunk driving accident in October 2022. She was also ordered to pay $11,545.57 in restitution. Lichtenwalner pleaded guilty in August to one charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle (2nd+), while three other charges were dropped. The incident involved a rollover crash on Durand Avenue, where the owner of the SUV involved was found deceased. Lichtenwalner, who was at the scene, displayed signs of intoxication. Subsequent investigations revealed evidence implicating her as the driver during the incident. Further analysis pointed to her involvement, including DNA evidence connecting her to the crime scene.
