
Fatal crash in Tuolumne County claims four lives
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Tuolumne County, resulting in the loss of the driver and three passengers of a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place when a 56-year-old driver from Puerto Rico in the Jeep failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Shaws Flat Road and State Route 49. An 18-year-old driver from Jamestown in a Dodge pickup truck was heading northbound on State Route 49 at the time, traveling at around 60 MPH. Unfortunately, the Jeep entered the intersection in front of the Dodge, leading to a collision that resulted in the tragic fatalities. The driver of the Dodge sustained moderate to major injuries. Investigators do not suspect the involvement of drugs or alcohol in the accident.
