Fatal crash in St. John parish under investigation
A tragic accident occurred in St. John the Baptist Parish, resulting in the death of a Des Allemands woman and injuries to seven others. The incident, which took place on US 61 near LA 3179 in Reserve on a Sunday evening, involved multiple vehicles. A Honda Ridgeline and a Nissan Altima were traveling north, with the Nissan changing lanes and colliding with the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to spin into oncoming traffic, striking a Hyundai Elantra traveling south. Roxann Thompson, 59, a passenger in the Honda, sustained serious injuries and unfortunately passed away at a local hospital. The drivers of the Honda and Nissan, as well as the occupants of the Hyundai, all suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
