Fatal crash in St. Cloud after police pursuit, suspect flees and gun found
Two individuals tragically lost their lives in St. Cloud after a man, who allegedly tried to evade police after being pulled over for speeding, crashed into their vehicle. The suspect, a 26-year-old man from Sauk Rapids, was critically injured in the incident and taken to the hospital. The St. Cloud Police Department reported that an officer observed a speeding truck without headlights around 11:46 p.m. The truck was stopped near the 1100 block of 8th Avenue North, but the driver threw an object out of the window and fled as the officer approached. The officer found a discarded firearm at the scene and began securing it, while reports of a crash came in at the intersection of 10th Avenue North. The speeding truck collided with another vehicle, leading to the fatalities of the occupants. Law enforcement have not disclosed details about potential charges against the man from Sauk Rapids or the identity of the victims.
