Fatal crash in Southwest Houston linked to suspected drunk driving, police report

Three individuals have lost their lives, and a suspect is currently hospitalized following a multiple-vehicle crash in southwest Houston overnight, as confirmed by authorities. The tragic incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 12300 block of Almeda Road near Tidewater Drive. According to police reports, a Chrysler 300 traveling south on Almeda ran a red light and collided with a Buick Enclave, which subsequently hit three other vehicles. Tragically, the three occupants of the Buick, a 23-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, and a 21-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Several other individuals involved in the crash were treated and discharged. The driver believed to be at fault was taken to a hospital in critical condition and is suspected of driving under the influence, with no charges mentioned at present. The identities of those involved have not yet been disclosed, and Houston Police have announced that further details will be provided on Monday.
