Authorities have apprehended a suspected drunk driver following a tragic head-on collision that resulted in the deaths of a man and two young children in San Joaquin County. The incident occurred late in the evening on Oct. 19 near Mariposa and Dodds roads in southeast Stockton. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash site, discovering that two SUVs were involved. One vehicle carried five individuals, including the man, three children, and their mother, while the other SUV had only the driver. Sadly, two of the young children, aged two and four, passed away in the hospital, with the man dying at the scene. The mother sustained severe injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was initially taken to the hospital for moderate injuries before being arrested on suspicion of DUI. Authorities believe the driver veered into the family's SUV, causing the fatal collision. The identity of the other driver has not been disclosed by officials at this time.
