Fatal crash in Plum Orchard leaves one teen dead and two others injured

Police in New Orleans are currently looking into a tragic collision that took place in the Plum Orchard neighborhood on Thursday morning. The incident occurred on Eastview Drive, and emergency responders arrived at the location at approximately 8:36 a.m. Three individuals were found injured at the site and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. These individuals included an 18-year-old driver, a 16-year-old, and a 15-year-old, who were passengers in the vehicle. Law enforcement officials shared that the young occupants lost control of the car, resulting in it colliding with a tree. Unfortunately, the 16-year-old passenger succumbed to their injuries later at the hospital. The driver, aged 18, is in critical condition, while the 15-year-old boy is in stable condition. The investigation is currently ongoing, with Detective Michael Baldassaro from the NOPD Traffic Fatality Section leading the efforts.
