Fatal crash in Nash County leaves woman dead and 3 others injured; charges pending

The driver of the Subaru, identified as 49-year-old Norma Edith Perez Felipe, sadly passed away at the scene, while her 16-year-old daughter was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota, 42-year-old Kristi Linae McCann, is facing charges related to the crash. Both she and her 4-year-old daughter, who was also in the vehicle, were taken to the hospital for evaluation. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that all individuals involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. The investigation is ongoing, with no suspicion of impairment reported by troopers. The road was reopened by late Friday evening, with authorities continuing their investigation into the incident.
