
Fatal crash in Napa County: 6 dead, 2 wounded
A suspected DUI crash in Napa County resulted in the tragic deaths of six individuals and injuries to two others on Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident took place when a Toyota minivan, carrying eight passengers, veered off the road and collided with a tree on Pope Valley Road in an unincorporated part of the county. Six individuals lost their lives on the scene, while the driver and a passenger were airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver, an adult male, was arrested on suspicion of DUI while in the hospital. The crash impacted the unincorporated community of Pope Valley, near St. Helena. The identities of the victims have not been released. Pope Valley Road remains closed, and the investigation is ongoing.
