Fatal crash in Lancaster County on Friday morning
Early Friday morning in Lancaster County, a collision between an SUV and a sedan near Elmwood Road resulted in one fatality and another person being injured. Emergency responders were called to the scene at 10:56 p.m. to assist the sedan driver, a man in his 30s who was trapped inside. Despite efforts to rescue him, he was pronounced dead at the site. The deceased individual has been identified as Edward Roberts Jr., 39, of Middletown. The SUV driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The police closed a section of Old Philadelphia Pike/Route 340 for a few hours due to the incident, which is being looked into by the East Lampeter Township Police Department.
