Fatal crash in Lake County claims lives of two teenagers - officials
A tragic incident in Lake County resulted in the loss of two teenagers over the weekend, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The fatal crash occurred around 6 p.m. near State Road 33 and Groveland Farms Road when a 2008 Toyota, driven by a 16-year-old female with a 17-year-old male passenger, tried to pass another vehicle in a restricted zone. In an attempt to avoid an oncoming Lincoln Aviator, the Toyota swerved back but lost control, colliding with the Aviator and overturning. Sadly, both teens in the Toyota lost their lives at the scene. The individuals in the Aviator, including two young children aged 5 and 6, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
