
Fatal crash in Guthrie County, Iowa during heavy rainfall
A man from Coon Rapids tragically lost his life on Tuesday evening in a three-vehicle accident near the town of Bagley in Guthrie County, Iowa. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Highway 141, just east of Oak Avenue. Jerry Hager, aged 60, was driving his Chevy Impala eastbound when the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane due to heavy rain. This resulted in a side-swipe with a Jeep Wrangler driven by Michele Pudenz, 56, from Carroll, and a head-on collision with a GMC Terrain driven by Gillian Streit, 26, from Manilla. Sadly, Hager was pronounced dead at the scene, as he was not wearing a seatbelt. The other passengers involved were offered medical assistance but did not require transportation to a hospital. All of them were properly restrained at the time of the accident. The Iowa State Patrol is currently conducting further investigations into the crash.
