Fatal crash in Groton Township
Update at 9 p.m. Authorities have identified the man who passed away in the crash as Steven Hay, 74, from Bellevue. Earlier at 6:07 p.m., a man lost his life in a crash that occurred in Groton Township on Wednesday afternoon. The incident involved two vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, at the corner of Hale and Southwest roads. It was observed that the SUV failed to stop at the intersection from Hale Road, colliding with the truck that had the right of way on Southwest Road. Unfortunately, the elderly male driver of the truck suffered fatal injuries. The condition of the SUV driver remains uncertain. The intersection has been closed since 6 p.m. for investigation, vehicle removal, and utility pole replacement by Ohio Edison. Stay tuned for further updates on this ongoing situation.
