Fatal crash in Gordon Co. after police pursuit on I-75
A police pursuit in Gordon County ended tragically on Saturday with a fatal collision. The incident began when a Mercedes nearly struck a deputy's patrol car at the entrance ramp on Interstate 75 south. The driver of the Mercedes then led deputies on a high-speed chase along Fairmount Highway and State Route 53 Bypass before a head-on collision occurred with a Honda CR-V. This collision resulted in one fatality and three injuries, with survivors airlifted to nearby hospitals. The driver of the Mercedes has not been positively identified due to severe injuries, and the Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
