Fatal crash in Garfield Park after car runs red light
A tragic incident occurred in Chicago's West Side when a car ran a red light and collided with another vehicle early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a passenger. The initial report from the police indicates that a 20-year-old driver in a blue Ford sedan carrying three passengers failed to stop at a traffic signal on West Lake Street in Garfield Park. The collision involved the Ford sedan and a red Chevy being driven by a 37-year-old woman with a passenger. Regrettably, the 22-year-old passenger in the Ford sedan succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital. The driver and two other passengers from the Ford were hospitalized in fair condition. The occupants of the red Chevy declined medical treatment at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and citations are anticipated, according to authorities.
