Fatal crash in Ellicott City following evasion of traffic stop.

On Sunday, a man passed away following a police pursuit during a traffic stop in Ellicott City, leading Howard County police to launch an inquiry. The incident occurred at 9:38 a.m. on Oct. 26, when an officer in an unmarked police vehicle attempted to pull over a 2013 Honda Accord near Route 29 and Rogers Avenue. The vehicle evaded the stop and eventually collided with a utility pole on Rogers Avenue past Faber Way. Only the driver, an adult male, was in the car and was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Rogers Avenue was shut down for approximately six hours while authorities conducted their investigation. Police have not yet disclosed any details regarding the reasons behind the driver's evasion or potential factors that may have played a role in the crash.
