Fatal crash in eastern Iowa Saturday night
Two individuals lost their lives in a car collision in eastern Iowa over the weekend. The tragic incident took place on Saturday evening in Delaware County near Hopkinton, at the intersection of Highway 38 and 310th Avenue. The Iowa State Patrol reported that a Chevy traveling northbound on Highway 38 was struck head-on by a southbound Volkswagen Beetle that crossed the center line. Sadly, both drivers, identified as 33-year-old Anthony Mentzer and 44-year-old Bobbi Bauers, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The emergency response involved the Iowa State Patrol, in collaboration with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Hopkinton Fire and EMS, and Koob Towing.
