Fatal crash in East Bay
Two individuals from the East Bay were tragically killed in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Thornton Avenue and Hickory Street in Newark, as confirmed by the Newark Police Department. Responding to the scene at around 5:28 p.m., emergency teams found that one victim had been ejected during the crash. Despite immediate aid efforts, both occupants did not survive their injuries. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Hayward, and the passenger, a 31-year-old man from Union City, have been identified by authorities. The incident is currently under investigation as Newark's first fatal car crash of 2025.
