Fatal crash in Duanesburg under investigation
A fatal collision occurred on Thursday morning in Duanesburg, NY, resulting in the death of one individual. The incident occurred on State Route 20 near McGuire School Road and Alexander Road. New York State Police reported that a 2007 BMW sedan failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling south on McGuire School Road. Upon turning left onto Route 20, the BMW collided with a 2014 Dodge Caravan. The driver of the Dodge was taken to Ellis Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. Others involved in the crash were transported to Albany Medical Center. Authorities used rescue tools to extricate a victim from the Dodge. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification. Passenger conditions were not disclosed. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. State Route 20 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The New York State Police received assistance from various local departments and emergency services.
