
Fatal crash in Chicago's South Side: 2 dead, 3 injured, according to police.
A tragic accident occurred on Friday night on the South Side of the city, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving three others hospitalized. The incident took place in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood at the 7500 block of S. Vincennes Avenue, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. The collision was caused by a 37-year-old driver of a gray Buick sedan who was attempting to make a left turn without yielding, striking a black Dodge traveling in the opposite direction. Those in the Dodge included a group of five individuals, with two of them, identified as Matthew Cuadra, 20, and April M. Valencia, 18, both from Lansing, Illinois, tragically losing their lives at the University of Chicago Medical Center. The remaining occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Buick received a citation for failing to yield, and further investigation is being conducted by the Major Accidents Investigative Unit.
