Fatal crash in Carbon County

A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on Monday, July 7, 2025, approximately two miles south of Fromberg near Highway 310 resulting in the death of a 67-year-old individual from Billings. The incident involved a Ford Explorer making a U-turn off Highway 310, with the driver letting one vehicle pass before being struck on the driver's side by a Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old from Powell, Wyoming. The impact led to both vehicles jackknifing into an irrigation ditch. The Billings individual, who was wearing a seatbelt, passed away en route to the hospital. Identification has not yet been released. The driver of the F-350 was unharmed but was not wearing a seatbelt. The Montana Highway Patrol investigation did not find speed, alcohol, or drugs to be contributing factors to the crash.
