Fatal crash in Butler County leads to 2 deaths
Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision in Forward Township, Butler County on Friday, according to authorities. The Pennsylvania State Police responded to a call about a collision involving two vehicles on Evans City Road, also known as State Route 68, near Buhl Road just before 11 a.m. Reports indicated that a 69-year-old Kathryn McGown from Evans City was driving a Jeep Cherokee and crossed the center line, colliding with an 80-year-old Marcia Carnahan from Slippery Rock driving a Cadillac XTS. Sadly, both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. It was noted that McGown was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The road was temporarily closed after the accident but has since reopened. The authorities are actively investigating the incident.
