Fatal crash in Buffalo Grove: Woman hit by two vehicles, authorities report
A tragic incident occurred in Buffalo Grove where a 74-year-old pedestrian lost her life after being struck by two vehicles on Wednesday. The collision took place at approximately 5:20 p.m. on southbound Arlington Heights Road near the entrance to Plaza Verde shopping center. Emergency responders from Arlington Heights Police and paramedics arrived at the scene promptly to provide medical assistance, but unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital. The drivers of both vehicles involved remained on site and are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation by Buffalo Grove Police Department. The road closure for about four hours allowed the authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident. Although the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and the cause of the crash is yet to be determined, there have been no citations or charges issued at this time. The Buffalo Grove PD's Traffic Unit, in collaboration with the Major Crash Assistance Team, is leading the investigative efforts into this tragic event.
