Fatal crash in Blaine County
A tragic incident occurred in Blaine County on Saturday, August 23, 2025, resulting in the loss of a 62-year-old man's life in a single-vehicle accident. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. on US Highway 2 at mile marker 406, a few miles east of Chinook. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that the driver, the sole occupant of a Buick Enclave, was traveling west when the vehicle drifted towards the right shoulder and collided head-on with the guardrail before coming to a stop in a borrow pit. Sadly, the driver, who was identified as a resident of Great Falls, passed away at the scene. The individual's identity has not been disclosed yet. The MHP confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not involved in the incident, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
