Fatal crash in Berlin claims life of Windsor Locks resident
A man from Windsor Locks has tragically passed away following a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning on Route 372 in Berlin. Authorities reported that Kace Burwood, 40, was the victim of the crash, while the driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. Emergency responders discovered one of the vehicles overturned with the driver trapped inside, as stated by Berlin Fire Chief Jonn Massirio. The incident took place at approximately 3:40 a.m. when Burwood, traveling eastbound on Route 372/Mill Street, attempted to make a left turn onto Berlin Street and was struck by a westbound vehicle. Though Route 372 was temporarily closed between Beckley Road and the Route 9 South on-ramp, it has since been reopened. Authorities suggested that impairment or excessive speed could have contributed to the crash, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause. Those who witnessed the collision are urged to reach out to Officer Kennedy at (860) 828-708.0. This remains a developing story, and further updates will be provided.
