Fatal crash in Aurora involving street racers; Driver arrested.
A man suspected of participating in street racing in Aurora was involved in a car crash that resulted in the death of one of his passengers, according to the Aurora police. The incident occurred early in the morning near the intersection of East Alameda Parkway and South Chambers Road. Edwin Rosales-Sandoval, a 19-year-old from Denver, was allegedly racing a BMW sedan when he veered off the road, collided with a grocery store sign, and rolled the car. Rosales-Sandoval and a 17-year-old girl in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals, while another passenger tragically lost their life in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released later by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office. Rosales-Sandoval was arrested and is facing multiple charges including vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, and driving with a revoked license, which was reportedly due to a previous DUI offense. He is scheduled to appear in court for an advisement hearing on Saturday afternoon.
