
Fatal crash following high-speed chase on I-93 in Canterbury, Massachusetts
Early on Sunday morning, a man from Massachusetts died in a crash following a high-speed police pursuit on Interstate 93 in Canterbury, New Hampshire. The incident began when a state trooper attempted to pull over a speeding blue 2020 Honda Civic around 1 a.m. near Exit 12 on the northbound side of the highway. The vehicle was reported to have reached speeds of up to 120 mph and was driving recklessly. The driver tried to exit the highway at Exit 18 but lost control, ultimately crashing into a tree after crossing lanes. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Tapia Gately from Saugus, Massachusetts, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant in the vehicle. The authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
