Fatal crash closes northbound I-25 at Santa Fe Drive

Two individuals lost their lives in a collision that occurred early Friday morning on northbound Interstate 25 near Santa Fe Drive, as reported by the Denver Police Department (DPD). The incident occurred at 2:57 a.m. on northbound I-25 at 6th Ave, prompting the closure of northbound I-25 between Santa Fe Drive and 6th Ave for approximately four hours. The affected part of the highway was reopened around 6:30 a.m. on Friday. According to Sergeant Katherine McCandless of the DPD, both deceased individuals were women who were driving at the time of the accident, and no other individuals required hospitalization. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated by the DPD.
