Fatal crash closes Academy in both directions at Platte
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, that Academy Boulevard is closed in both directions from Platte Avenue to Bijou Street, due to a serious crash near Bijou that has turned fatal. According to CSPD, one person has died as a result of the crash. The Major Crash Team has responded, and the roads will be closed for an extended period of time while the team investigates. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes.
