Fatal crash claims woman's life in Murfreesboro

A tragic incident occurred in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as a 63-year-old woman passed away days after being in a collision with a pickup truck. The Murfreesboro Police Department reported that the accident took place on South Rutherford Boulevard on Friday, July 18. The woman, identified as Belinda Talley, was driving a Nissan Altima and attempting to make a left turn onto the boulevard when her car collided with a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 17-year-old. The impact caused the pickup truck to veer into oncoming traffic, hitting a tree and then crashing into a parked car at an apartment complex. Unfortunately, Talley was trapped in her vehicle and had to be rescued by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department before being airlifted to the hospital. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday, July 21. The teenage driver was also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The initial investigation indicates that Talley failed to yield the right of way, but further investigation by the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is ongoing. Additional information about this heartbreaking incident has not yet been disclosed.
