Fatal crash claims motorcyclist in Pondera County
A 50-year-old man from Shelby tragically passed away a few days after a collision in Pondera County that occurred on August 16, 2025. The incident took place before 4 p.m. on US Highway 89 between Pendroy and Dupuyer. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that the man was riding a northbound Harley Davidson Road King when the motorcycle veered off the road near mile marker 71 and became airborne, eventually hitting a hill. He was transported to Benefis Health System in Great Falls, where he succumbed to his injuries. It was noted in the MHP report that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash, and the man was not wearing a helmet during the incident. The name of the deceased individual has not been disclosed.
