Fatal crash claims life of woman in Lewis & Clark County
A fatal accident occurred in Lewis & Clark County on Saturday, May 3, 2025, when an ATV crash claimed the life of one person near the Stemple Pass Road and Fool Hen Road intersection around 11:35 p.m. Reports from the Montana Highway Patrol indicate that two individuals were operating the Polaris vehicle when they lost control on a left-hand curve, causing the ATV to skid and roll. The driver, a 53-year-old woman from Helena who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The passenger, a 54-year-old man also from Helena, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries. The authorities suspect that impaired driving and excessive speed played a role in the tragic incident. Names of those involved have not been disclosed at this time.
