Fatal crash claims life of 20-year-old woman in Thornton
A tragic incident occurred in Thornton over the weekend when a collision between two vehicles resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman, as reported by the Thornton Police Department. The accident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Saturday at the junction of Interstate 25 and E. 84th Avenue. According to authorities, the young woman, driving a Toyota sedan, was turning onto E. 84th Avenue from I-25 when she collided with a Jeep traveling in the opposite direction. The 51-year-old man driving the Jeep remained uninjured and cooperated with the authorities at the scene. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has not been disclosed pending confirmation by the Adams County Coroner’s Office and informing her next of kin. The press release from the police does not assign blame for the incident.
