Fatal Crash: Car Plunges Into Water
A tragic incident occurred in Greenwood, Indiana, where a vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a pond near Worthsville Road, resulting in the death of one person. The crash happened around 4 p.m. in the 900 block of E. Worthsville Road, prompting a response from the Greenwood Fire Department. The road was temporarily closed between County Road 75 East and Sheek Road for the investigation. Emergency responders successfully retrieved the driver from the submerged vehicle and rushed them to the hospital, but sadly, they did not survive. During the rescue, a firefighter and a police officer sustained minor injuries. The Indianapolis Fire Department also provided assistance in the operation, deploying dive crews to aid in recovering the vehicle from the pond. The deceased individual's identity has not yet been disclosed, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
