Fatal crash at U.S. 40 and Chamberlain Road
UPDATE: The Vigo County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that tragically, one person lost their life in a car accident on Monday morning. Authorities responded to a crash at US 40 and Chamberlain Road in eastern Vigo County at approximately 8:55 am. Two vehicles sustained heavy damage in the incident, with a red Toyota 4-Runner traveling westbound on US 40 and a Black Tesla heading northbound on Chamberlain Road. The Tesla ran a red light, leading to a collision with the 4-Runner in the food mart parking lot. The driver of the 4-Runner was hospitalized for injuries while the male driver of the Tesla, who was transported by Transcare, succumbed to injuries. The fatal accident crash team was summoned to the scene for further investigation. Kindly avoid the area around US 40 and Chamberlain Road as authorities work on the case.
