Fatal crash at Knoxville assisted living facility

A woman is facing charges of vehicular homicide after her KIA minivan crashed into the Shannondale Assisted Living Facility in Knoxville, Tennessee, resulting in the death of a 96-year-old man. The Knoxville Police Department stated that Eleasah Williams, 24, is charged with vehicular homicide and recklessness in connection with the incident. The crash occurred at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday at 7350 Middlebrook Pike. Williams suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will be arrested once released from the hospital. The police shared that the ongoing investigation suggests that the driver sped from an apartment complex on Woodview Lane, crossed Middlebrook Pike, and crashed into the facility for reasons still being looked into.
