Fatal crash after police pursuit on I-80/94 in Hammond
A fatal incident occurred following a police pursuit that culminated in a fiery collision on I-80/94 in Hammond. The chain of events unfolded shortly after midnight when Munster Police Department officers tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic offense, but the driver refused to comply. Despite efforts to evade law enforcement, the driver ultimately crashed near the Cline Avenue exit on I-80/94 and the vehicle caught fire. Unfortunately, the driver did not survive the crash. The individual, who has not been publicly identified, was the sole person involved in the accident. Indiana State Police are currently investigating the incident.
